This past Friday I took on announcing duties once again for Wheelchair Basketball, this time in a european club competition, the prestigious Euroleague 3.
Sheffield Steelers were chosen as one of the host teams of the competition, holding Group B at Pond Forge, in Sheffield. The winners of 4 groups across Europe in places such as, Bilbao, Padova & Pardubice, would qualify for EuroCup & Challenge Cup held in Vigo, later this year.
It was great to announce a european club competition for the first time, as I’d only previously worked on international games, so this was slightly different. Once again, I really enjoyed being an ambassador for wheelchair basketball, introducing some new fans to the game, (schools, community groups that attended) getting them excited for these huge games.
Congratulations to all the teams that took part and put on a spectacular show. And I hope I got the majority of your names right!
Look forward to linking up with Sheffield Steelers & British Wheelchair Basketball again soon.
