This past weekend I went to Birmingham Pride with Black Country Radio and it was amazing!
I was asked to work with fellow presenter/producer Dan Richards to present a live-show from the event, highlighting people at the event, the community & atmosphere. Our original plan was to interview volunteers, participants and street performers, it didn’t go to plan…
Instead we accidentally joined the Birmingham Pride Parade! Broadcasting on-air & Facebook Live, whilst surrounded by crowds, groups of people marching & performing; it was one of the most incredible experiences ever!
After marching our way around the whole of Birmingham, we rested up in the media centre where we had the opportunity to interview some of the music performers of the weekend.
Who we managed to sit-down with was most unexpected…
I interviewed the incredible Betsy, one of the UK’s fastest rising music talents. Along with X Factor winner Louisa Johnson.
As a community radio station, with limited resources at the event, I feel we created some excellent standout content, providing the perfect mix of local community & mainstream aspects.
