I recently took on a events management project through Black Country Radio, which saw me implement and organise the radio station’s presence at the Stourbridge Carnival. With a £0 budget in pace, overall the event from BCR’s viewpoint was a great success.
With limited contacts and time constraints I managed to develop a roster of quality performers which were used at the event, with some being banked/not used, in-mind of other future events. These performers also represented the station brand & ‘sound’ in the correct manner.
On-stage performers were also coupled with various themed audience participation games; based on my experiences as a live events host within sports, TV, etc.
I created detailed organisation plans, from running orders and in-dept risk assessments, to social media schedules, promos and presenter scripting. The attention to detail paid off, as the presentation of the overall production came across extremely professional and seamless.
Creative multi-media aspects were also added to the event, to sustain audience interest and drive them to future promotions in relation to the radio station. This was done through self-maintained social media coverage, on-air interviews & forward thinking video/picture content.
It was a pleasure to step back into events management, as a freelancer I look forward to taking part & creating successful events again soon.
